Everything you need to know about Conor & Laura's wedding

Wait, who?

Us! Conor & Laura. You know, the little Welsh one and the Irish one with the big head.

Ah yes, I remember. When are you getting married?

21st May 2022 — but that's in the past now…

Where is it?

Both the ceremony & the reception will be held at Rosedew Farm in Llantwit Major, Wales.

How do I get there?

If you’re coming by train, it’s about a 20-minute walk from Llantwit Major train station, or a 5-minute taxi ride.

If you’d prefer to drive here, there’s plenty of free parking onsite.

If you’re flying here, the closest airports are Cardiff & Bristol. The 304 bus will take you from Cardiff Airport to Llantwit Major.

And if you’re travelling to Wales by ferry, it’s a 2-hour drive from Pembroke Dock to Llantwit Major, through the beautiful South Wales countryside… and Swansea.

Want to figure out the best route for you? Check out Rosedew Farm on Google Maps.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes, Rosedew Farm is fully accessible. If you have any specific concerns about navigating the day, please let us know — we’ll make sure your needs are met as best we can.

When should I arrive?

If you’re invited for the full day, we’re asking guests to arrive by 11:30 in the morning. That’ll give you time to get settled before the ceremony itself starts at 12pm.

If you’re invited to the evening reception, you’re welcome to turn up any time from 7pm onwards. The closer to 7 the better, so we get to see more of you!

I’m travelling from further afield — can I arrive the day before?

Absolutely! We’ll be staying at Rosedew Farm the night before, and anyone in the area is welcome to join us for a low-key get-together on that night (think pizza and a few games).

What time does the wedding end?

The wedding ends at midnight — make sure you stick around until the end if you want to see Laura's mum refuse to leave the dancefloor until we've played her favourite song for the fifth time.

Where should I stay?

We'd recommend staying at the heart of the action — Rosedew Farm itself!

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel happiest wearing! The dress code is semi-formal, but if you’d be more comfortable in something else, that’s totally fine by us.

Not sure what semi-formal means? Yeah, we didn’t either. Here are some outfits to spark your imagination.

Rosedew Farm has a gravel courtyard, so if you’re thinking of wearing heels, we’d recommend a wedge heel over anything more precarious. And we won’t judge you at all if you just want to come in your comfiest flats!

Do you have a wedding hashtag?

No, we do not. Sorry, influencers.

Okay, but can I still take pictures and post them on social media?

We’d love for you to share your experience of the day, but we have a couple of guidelines we’d like you to follow:

  1. We’ll be having an unplugged ceremony — that means no taking photos or videos during the ceremony itself. We’ll have two photographers and a videographer there to capture everything — you can just sit back and enjoy the occasion.
  2. We’d love it if you could hold off on posting anything online until we’ve posted some pictures from our official photographer. We’re too vain for our first photo on social media as a married couple to be a blurry shot of us wolfing down our third slice of wedding cake.

Will there be food?

Of course, it’s a wedding — that’s the main reason you’re coming, right?

After the ceremony, we’ll be serving a few drinks and canapés, which will be followed by a home-style roast & dessert (plus a few more drinks!)

In the evening, we’ll be serving a buffet-style meal to round out the evening. If you don’t leave feeling very full, we’ll consider the whole day a failure.

I have special dietary requirements — will there be something I can eat?

Yes! We know how frustrating it can be to watch everyone around you eating a delicious meal, whilst you’ve been served the allergy-free option of a few tomatoes and a handful of shredded lettuce — we want to make sure that all our guests get to eat food they actually want to eat.

If you include all your dietary requirements in your RSVP, we’ll ensure you’re well-fed.

Is this a kid-friendly wedding?

Absolutely! About an eighth of our guests are children, so we’re doing as much as we can to make it a great space for everyone. We’ll have lots of games & activities for all ages, and baby changing facilities.

There will also be a breastfeeding space available, which can be found… everywhere. Feed your child wherever you want, so long as you’re comfortable. If you would like a bit of privacy, however, we will also have a space available for you.

I want to get you a gift — what should I get?

If you would like to give a gift, you’re welcome to, and it’s very appreciated, but it is in no way expected. Just getting to see you & celebrate with you is gift enough. Truly.

For those wanting to give a gift, we've set up a registry where you can contribute towards our honeymoon, or donate towards a couple of charities that are close to our hearts.

I’ve got a question that isn’t covered here!

No problem — just reach out to either of us as soon as possible and we’ll help in any way we can.
